Method: Stir ingredients in a shaker and pour into an ice-filled old-fashioned glass. Garnish with a grapefruit twist while thinking suitably old-fashioned thoughts.
Variation: To make an Elderfashion Royale, use just one part of gin and serve in a Champagne flute, then top with Champagne.
